Welcome to the Haydar Foundation
The community in Flint, MI, lost a physician and friend on March 6, 2020. After a 20+ year struggle with Parkinson’s disease, Dr. Mahmoud I. Haydar passed peacefully to the Mercy of God surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
Dr. Haydar emigrated to the United States from Damascus, Syria in 1971, and attended to the emergency room needs in the Flint area for 30+ years. He raised a family of 8 and was a founding member of the Flint Islamic Center. He also believed in sharing the blessings God had endowed him with and supported many charitable initiatives.
In accordance to the wishes of Dr. Haydar, the Haydar Foundation has been established as a non-profit, private foundation in Michigan to support charitable causes dear to his heart.
